Development overhead is expensive. Salaries, artwork, animation, engineering, sound, testing and the everyday costs of keeping a studio running all need sustained funding.

These direct pre-sales are our way of crowdfunding the next stage of Vox Equinox. The funding will support development, improve the quality of the game, and give the team more room to refine its direction. Reward production, payment processing, taxes and fulfilment also have costs.

Every package includes a PC copy and access to alpha testing. We are targeting the full game for the end of Q2 2027. Development schedules can change, and we will share progress through our development updates.

A note from Third Sight Studio

Why we’re doing this ourselves.

We care deeply about human creativity and the people whose work makes games possible. We are concerned about generative AI, undisclosed use, and whether the protections offered to creative workers are strong enough.

Steam permits applicable uses of generative AI with disclosure requirements. Kickstarter permits AI use with transparency and human creative involvement. We want stronger accountability and protection for original work. That is our position as a studio, and it is one reason we want a closer, more direct relationship with our supporters.

Platform fees also affect a small team’s budget. A Steam sale carries a storefront revenue share. A successful Kickstarter campaign carries a platform fee and payment processing costs. Hosting the campaign here lets us manage our supporter relationship and campaign directly, while payment processing and fulfilment still have real costs.

Vox Equinox is still planned for Steam. Its reach matters, and players should have a choice. Supporting us directly is another way to help build the game and keep more of the available funding focused on its development.

A few good questions.

Can I pre-order now?

Available packages can be purchased through secure Stripe checkout. Physical rewards open once their sizes, shipping rates and delivery terms are ready.

Is this crowdfunding or a pre-order?

It is a direct advance sale that helps crowdfund development. You will be buying the package described at checkout, with the studio responsible for delivering it. It is not a donation or an investment, and it is not a Kickstarter campaign.

How does the limited allocation work?

The initial allocation is 1,500 digital game copies across all packages. Each package counts as one digital copy; the collector package additionally includes its physical copy. The $30k, $50k, $100k and $150k milestones add 1,500, 2,501, 5,002 and 7,503 digital copies respectively. These later allocations do not expand the numbered first allocation.

What does “100% refundable” mean?

Pre-orders are 100% refundable whenever you request a refund. Contact the studio through Instagram or Discord to request one and share your receipt details privately. Refunds go to the original payment method. Physical packages are not available yet; their shipping terms will be confirmed before those packages open.

When will I receive the game and alpha access?

We are targeting the full PC game by the end of Q2 2027. Alpha testing invitations will be sent in stages as builds become ready; no alpha date has been announced. Development targets can move, and we will share changes with supporters.

Does the collector package depend on the $150k goal?

The proposed $120 package includes a limited PC collector’s copy and shirt. The $150,000 stretch is for broader physical production and a retail distribution partnership. Final collector specifications and shipping commitments will be available before purchase.

Will my PC order include console or mobile versions?

No. The packages described here are for PC. The $30,000 milestone supports work toward additional platforms, with versions, dates and pricing to be announced separately.
