Cookies & Privacy

Here’s what this website stores, what happens when you sign up or order, and how to change your choices.

Updated October 25, 2026

Yes allows first-party statistics about daily visitors and cart activity, plus the live count while this tab is visible and the activity HUD is open. No keeps these optional statistics off. You can use the website, join the waitlist and place an available pre-order either way.

Cart, checkout and cookie-choice storage still work because they support the features you request. You can change your choice using the button here or Cookie settings in the footer.

What your browser remembers

The public website has no advertising pixels, cross-site analytics or embedded social-media trackers. Optional visitor and cart statistics run only after you choose Yes to the current notice. Our fonts and game media are served with the website. Some features use local storage or session storage in your browser; these are covered by the same controls as cookies where applicable.

Browser storage used by the public website
UseWhat it remembersYour control
Pre-order cartThe packages and options you select, such as shirt size, delivery choice and destination country, in local storage.Edit or remove items in your cart. Clearing this site’s browser storage also clears the saved cart.
Checkout retryA checkout attempt and its selections in session storage, so a retry can refer to the same attempt. This belongs to the browser tab’s session. It does not store card details.
Sound controlsThe current music track, playback position and remaining playlist, plus your music and story-sound mute choices, in session storage. This keeps music consistent as you move between pages or refresh; it does not identify you. These settings last for this tab’s session. Use the audio controls to change your sound choices.
Mobile music HUDWhether you have hidden the mobile music controls, in local storage. Saved only when you press Hide; this changes the controls’ display, not music playback.Stays collapsed across page changes and refreshes until you reopen the controls or clear this site’s browser storage.
Music across tabsOpen website tabs share the song, playback position, remaining playlist and music on/off choice directly within your browser. A browser lock lets only one tab play. Temporary messages use an in-memory tab key, with no visitor identifier, new cookie or server request.Use Music to mute across tabs or move playback to this tab. Closing all website tabs ends the shared session.
Cookie choiceYour Yes or No choice, its date and the notice version, for up to 180 days.Change it at any time through Cookie settings. We remember a No choice as well as a Yes choice.
Live activity countA temporary random connection key held in memory while this tab participates. No persistent visitor ID is saved.Off until you choose Yes. Hiding the page, closing the activity HUD or choosing No disconnects this tab.
Optional cart statisticsA random cart identifier in this tab’s session storage, separate from the packages and checkout retry information needed to manage your purchase. It expires at the next Pacific date change or after 24 hours, whichever comes first. It connects cart activity with a completed checkout for statistics; it contains no name, email or address.Off until you choose Yes. Choosing No or enabling Global Privacy Control removes the optional cart identifier without clearing your actual cart. Closing the live HUD only stops its live connection; daily statistics follow your cookie choice.
Activity HUD dismissalSelecting “Do not show again” saves only that display preference in a first-party cookie for 180 days.Saved only when you select the checkbox and close the HUD or open pre-orders. It works independently of live activity permission and does not enable counting. Cookie settings clears this preference so the HUD can be shown again.

You do not have to allow optional storage to browse or buy. Closing the cookie notice or continuing to scroll does not count as a Yes. Changing the cookie choice does not unsubscribe you from emails or erase an existing order.

This website does not send personal information to advertising or cross-site tracking services. When your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we keep optional visitor and cart statistics and live activity counting off, even if you previously chose Yes. Necessary cart and checkout storage are unaffected. An older Yes to our live-activity-only notice does not authorize daily statistics; we ask again when the purpose changes.

Information you send us

Joining the waitlist

The first name, last name and email address you submit are stored in Supabase. We use Resend to send waitlist emails, including the sign-up confirmation. Submitting the form is separate from your optional cookie choice.

Placing a pre-order

Stripe handles payment details on its checkout page. The website keeps order and payment-confirmation records in Supabase so the studio can manage your purchase. Vercel hosts the website and its server requests. Your browser’s saved cart does not contain card details.

After verified payment, your checkout email joins the Vox Equinox waitlist for game news and development updates unless you choose “Order emails only” at checkout. We record the notice version and your choice with the signup. You can unsubscribe through the link in your welcome email; a later purchase will not override a previous unsubscribe. Essential receipts, alpha-access and game-delivery emails still relate to your order and continue separately.

Checking shipping

Package options calculate the displayed flat shipping charge from your selected destination country and number of physical reward sets. Your browser saves the selected country with your cart; our server validates the destination and shipping charge at checkout. Stripe collects the delivery address for physical goods.

Live activity

If you choose Yes, this tab connects to Supabase Realtime while the page is visible and the activity HUD is open. A random connection key keeps the count in sync. It stays in memory and is not saved as a visitor cookie or added to customer records. Other connected browsers receive temporary keys with no names, emails or order details. We disconnect when you hide the page, close the HUD or withdraw permission. The count may take a moment to update after a connection drops.

This counts consenting active browser connections, rather than unique people. Multiple tabs and devices can count separately. The live connection does not create a visit history; the separate daily statistics below use your same optional cookie choice.

The completed pre-order total comes from verified paid package orders, excluding fully refunded purchases. It is not a count of individual game copies. Customer and payment details are not displayed.

Daily visitor and cart statistics

If you choose Yes, our server converts your connection’s IP address into a keyed hash that changes each day in the America/Los_Angeles time zone. The statistics store this daily hash rather than the raw IP address. A shared network, VPN or changing connection can affect the count, so daily unique IPs are an estimate of traffic, not an exact count of people.

We also record cart starts, package additions and whether a related checkout completed. A random cart identifier links this activity to a verified payment result without copying your name, email, shipping address or payment details into the statistics. We do not store page routes or browsing histories in these metrics. Detailed pseudonymous statistics are retained for 90 days; daily aggregate totals may be kept longer.

The studio receives private aggregate reports by email, including visits, cart activity and completed checkouts. These reports do not list individual visitors, IP addresses or customers. A cart not completed at the report time may still be purchased later. This feature does not send abandoned-cart reminders or other emails to customers.

These services process information needed for their part of the request. Our hosting and security services may also process technical request information to operate and protect the website.

When you open another service

Instagram and Discord links open those services; they are not social-media embeds running inside this website. Stripe Checkout also has its own page. Once you open another service, its own cookies, privacy choices and policies apply. Your choice on this website does not set your preferences there.

Questions about your information

To ask about your waitlist details, order information or a request to access, correct or delete information, contact the studio. We’ll review the request under the rules that apply to it, including any records needed to manage an order.
